Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai-based builder  Arabtec Holding on Wednesday said that its 100% subsidiary Arabtec Construction has been awarded an AED 311 million ($84.69 million) contract for building the Public Realm in Concourses and Arrivals Plazas at Expo 2020.

The project entails constructing 268,000 square metres of public concourses that comprise landscape structures, furniture, irrigation, lighting water features, landscaping, and public entrance plazas, according to a statement to the Dubai Financial Market (DFM).

Construction works in the project are set to start in October and forecast to be finished by the fourth quarter of 2019.

“We are delighted that Expo Dubai 2020 has selected Arabtec to deliver this important element of the Expo Master Plan,” the major Emirati contractor’s CEO Hamish Tyrwhitt commented.
