Mubasher: Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has secured a long-term agreement with the Italian flurochemical company Fluorsid to supply smelter-grade aluminium fluoride, according to a recent statement.

This deal comes as part of Alba’s Line 6 Expansion project, one of the largest brownfield developments across the Middle East.

The board members of Alba have approved the project in June 2015, with the Bahrain-based company securing the natural gas supply for it five months later.

Developing this project will make Alba the world’s largest single-site aluminium smelter with a total production volume of 1.5 million tonnes.
