Mubasher: At least nine people died over two days in Italy as heavy rains and high winds struck much of the country.
The death toll included a woman who was buried by mud when a landslide hit her house and a firefighter who was struck by a tree in the northern region of Trentino-Alto Adige, news agency ANSA said on Tuesday.
Moreover, a man who was wind-surfing in Emilia-Romagna also has been killed, when slammed against rocks, while other casualties occurred in Naples, Liguria and Lazio.
Water levels were projected at 110 centimetres (cm) (43.3 inches), flooding 12% of Venice.
High winds resulted in an exceptional tide in the city, covering three-quarters of it for the first time since ten years.
