Cairo – Mubasher: Edita Food Industries reported a 55% year-on-year surge in consolidated profits for the first nine months of 2018.

The company logged a net profit of EGP 200.4 million in the nine-month period ended September, versus EGP 129 million in the year-ago period, according to a filing to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX).

Meanwhile, sales rose slightly to EGP 2.6 billion from EGP 2.08 billion in the corresponding nine-month period of 2017.

At the level of standalone business, the company generated EGP 141.3 million in net profit at the end of September, up from EGP 55.5 million in the same period last year.

Edita Food previously posted an 87.1% year-on-year rise in consolidated profit for the first half of 2018, recording a net profit of EGP 102.73 million from EGP 54.89 million.

Sales increased to EGP 1.67 billion in the six-month period ended June from EGP 1.25 billion in the year-ago period.
