Mubasher: Qatar Fuel “Woqod” on Thursday announced opening two new stations, one for petrol and one for gas, as part of an ongoing expansion strategy.

The company opened Al Froosh petrol station on Wednesday, 31 October 2018 as well as a mobile station in Fereej Al Soudan for Gasoline.

Following the opening of Al Froosh petrol station, Woqod’s number of operational stations in Qatar has reached 74 stations, with 23 currently under construction, many of which are slated for completion in 2018, the fuel provider revealed.

“Al Froosh is spread over an area of 1,500 square metres and has 3 lanes with 6 dispensers that will serve Al Froosh and its neighbourhood,” Woqod revealed in a statement to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).

It added that the new stations would offer “round-the-clock services to residents”, including a Sidra convenience store, manual car wash, oil change, and tire repair options. The station will also sell LPG cylinders as well as gasoline and diesel products for light vehicles.

“We are pleased to open new fixed petrol stations in Al Froosh. Woqod aspires to expand its petrol station network in the country to meet the rising demand for petroleum products and achieve the goal of providing customers with access to best-in-class products and services at their convenience and comfort,” commented Woqod CEO Saad Rashid Al Muhannadi.

Commenting on the 23 underway stations, Al Muhanndi revealed that nine of these stations was in the bidding phase, while 14 were in the design phase.

As for the mobile gasoline station in Fereej Al Soudan, the top official said that his company had opened this station to reduce vehicle congestion in the area, especially after several private stations had closed their doors recently.

“As part of its strategic expansion plan, Woqod is targeting the achievement of a total of 130 fuel stations by the end of 2020,” Al-Muhannadi concluded.

Last week, Woqod had announced opening two other petrol stations in Qatar.
