Cairo – Mubasher: British oil and gas exploration company Rockhopper Exploration Plc announced it began production at Al Jahraa 6 well in the Abu Sennan concession in Egypt’s Western Desert.
Accordingly, the company’s production from the Abu Sennan concession rose to 3,800 barrels per day (bpd), Rockhopper said in a statement.
The UK-based oil and gas producer holds a 22% stake in the concession and has nearly $1.9 million dues from Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), according to the statement.
In 2017, Rockhopper Exploration said its operations in Egypt were stable and its debts owed by state-run EGPC were seeing a constant decline.
