Saudi Arabia launches SAR 839m wastewater projects in Al-Jawf

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz has launched and inaugurated a number of projects in Al-Jawf region at combined investments of as much as SAR 839 million.

The projects include providing the Qurayyat province and the surrounding areas with water, building a water tank and a water supply system in Al Shuqaiq, as well as installing prepayment metres at households and maintain the construction of the water system in Al-Adharee and Al-Radefah at a cost of SAR 420 million, according to a statement.

The Saudi King also launched wastewater treatment projects in Qurayyat and Al Shuqaiq and the second phase of the wastewater system in Allqait with over SAR 124 million in investments, the statement added.

Additionally, projects of drilling water wells across Al-Jawf were launched at a cost of more than SAR 12 million.

King Salman also opened water tanks and water system projects in Sakaka, in addition to other projects in the region, at total investments of SAR 139 million.

Moreover, the seventh phase of the wastewater network expansion project in Sakaka was launched at a value of SAR 79 million, in addition to the establishment of a building for the general directorate of Water in Al-Jawf.

These projects will support the kingdom’s efforts in achieving the water and environment strategy and objectives of Vision 2030, intended to diversify the kingdom’s economy and invest more heavily in infrastructure.
