Saudi indices end Monday on negative note

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) finished Monday in the red after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) tumbled 19.6 points, or 0.25%, to 7,819.67 points, recording its lowest level in December.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 98.16 million shares, up from 95.88 million in the previous session, while liquidity rose slightly to SAR 2.18 billion ($581.3 million), against SAR 2.15 billion ($572.27 million).

The energy sector was the worst performer after losing 1.79%, followed by the banking sector which shed 0.44%, while the materials sector went down 0.16%.

On the other hand, the food and staples retailing sector topped risers after adding 2.44%, while the telecommunication services sector inched up 0.79%.

National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia’s (Bahri) stock led losers with 2.37%, while the stock of Eastern Province Cement Co. was the best performer after jumping 9.93%.

In the meantime, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, slumped 15.46 points, or 0.64%, to finish at 2,409.38 points.

Arab Sea Information System Co’s led the secondary market’s losers with 2.18%, while the stock of Raydan Co was the best performer after rising 3.01%.
