Dubai – Mubasher: Around 1.8 million passengers have crossed Dubai ports during the last week of 2018, according to statistics issued by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (DNRD).

From 23 December 2018 to 1 January 2018, a number of 1,777,913 travellers passed through Dubai’s sea, air, and land ports.

“Up to 1,643,095 fliers used the emirate's airports, while 102,829 travellers used the land ports, with seaports seeing 31,989 passengers,” the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported, citing DNRD’s data.

Last year, the UAE government took a variety of measures to boost the tourism sectors including the new visa policies.
