Mubasher: The Canadian government has unveiled plans to accept over a million immigrants in the next three years.

In a report sent to the parliament, the Canadian minister of immigration Ahmed Hussein, proposed a plan under which the government will accept 1,080,000 new permanent residents in the years 2019, 2020, and 2021.

"Immigrants and their descendants have made immeasurable contributions to Canada, and our future success depends on continuing to ensure they are welcomed and well-integrated,” Hussein added.

Canada is not so altruistic about its generous immigration plans, as Ottawa is counting some benefits the country will reap from the new residents, which are usually young, promising to rejuvenate the aging population.

"Growing immigration levels, particularly in the Economic Class, will help sustain [Canada’s] labour force, support economic growth, and spur innovation," according to the immigration report.

Immigration has become a critical socioeconomic issue facing the developed countries after the eruption of many conflicts in the third world, especially the conflict in Syria.
