Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Power Corporation (ADPC) signed a strategic partnership agreement with Mubadala Investment Company and its subsidiary Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2019.
The deal includes water desalination projects with a capacity over 400 million imperial gallons per day and energy projects with a capacity of 5 gigawatts (GW) solar energy and 2 GW of traditional energy.
“Combining the experience and expertise in conventional power and water solutions of Mubadala with Masdar’s leadership in renewable energy and clean technologies illustrates our shared commitment to the continued modernization of a cost-efficient, technologically-advanced and environmentally-sustainable power and water sector for the benefit of the people of Abu Dhabi,” the UAE’s minister of state and chairman of Masdar Ahmed Al Jaber stated.
Under this agreement, the state-run entity “aims to support Abu Dhabi’s pioneering status in the energy sector and its key developmental pillars for a more advanced and sustainable future,” ADPC’s chairman Saif Alhajeri said.
