TASI jumps 59 pts, Nomu drops at Wednesday’s close
The food and beverages sector led gainers with 1.3%

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) finished Wednesday’s trading session in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 59.22 points, or 0.7%, to 8,406.47 points, registering its highest level in six months.

TASI’s liquidity increased slightly to SAR 3.23 billion, from SAR 3.19 billion, while trading volume stood at 137.61 million shares, up from 117.89 million on Tuesday.

The food and beverages sector led gainers with 1.3%, followed by the banking sector with 1.1%.

The media, telecommunication services and materials sectors rose 1%, 0.8%, and 0.5%, respectively. 

On the flipside, the healthcare equipment and services sector shed 0.76%, while the retailing sector edged down 0.6%.

Saudi Enaya Cooperative Insurance Company’s (Enaya) stock was the best performer with 7.6%, while the stock of the Mediterranean and Gulf Insurance and Reinsurance Company (MedGulf) was the worst performer with 2.6%.

Saudi Basic Industries Corp’s (SABIC) stock generated the highest liquidity with SAR 331.56 million, while Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Company’s stock, topped the main market in terms of traded volume with 14.5 million shares.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, plunged 60.97 points, or 2.2%, to close the session at 2,740.78 points.

Nomu’s traded volume reached 152,600 shares, down from 245,550 on Tuesday, while its turnover amounted to SAR 2.4 million, down from SAR 4.09 million in the session before.

Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock led losers with 1.1%, while the stock of Al-Samaani Factory for Metal Industries was the best performer after adding 3.1%.

Abdullah Saad Mohamed Abo Moati for Bookstores Company’s stock was Nomu’s most active as 60,820 shares were exchanged, with a liquidity of SAR 809,570.
