Kuwait raised oil output by 29,000 barrels per day (bpd) in December 2018, against the current plans of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

The crude oil production of the Gulf nation rose to 2.80 million bpd last December, from 2.77 million bpd in the prior month, according to the monthly report issued by OPEC on Thursday.

In addition, five more countries raised their oil output in December, including Iraq, Gabon, Congo, Nigeria and Ecuador which increased crude production by 88,000, 26,000, 18,000, 11,000 and 1,000 bpd, respectively, the oil cartel noted.

Meanwhile, eight other nations cut oil production last December, led by Saudi Arabia, lowering 468,000 bpd, followed by Libya, Iran, the UAE, Venezuela, Equatorial Guinea, Angola and Algeria which reduced crude output by 172,000, 159,000, 65,000, 33,000, 13,000, 10,000 and 5,000 bpd, respectively.

Generally, OPEC’s oil output retreated by 751,000 to 31.57 million bpd last month, against 32.33 bpd in November 2018.
