Saudi Arabia to launch 2 satellites for space telecoms on Tuesday
The satellite will be launched from Coro in French Guiana

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has said that it will launch the first satellite called “SGS-1” for space telecommunications on Tuesday evening.

The satellite will be launched from Coro in French Guiana, according to Al Ekhbariya channel.

The satellite will provide broadband, secured, remote areas, and remote areas telecommunication services.

In February 2018, twelve Saudi engineers have participated in manufacturing two satellites that the Kingdom received by the end of 2018.

Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) unveiled last October the completion of developing and manufacturing two satellites, called “Saudi SAT 5A” and “Saudi SAT 5B, for aerial surveying purposes.

In November 2018, the GCC nation announced that it launched two satellites for aerial surveying purposes.
