Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE is looking to develop and expand local ports with total investments of AED 157 billion over the coming years, the minister of infrastructure and development said.

The new investments will enhance the competitiveness of the ports, Abdullah Belhaif Al-Nuaimi, who doubles as the chairman of Federal Transport Authority-Land & Maritime (FTA), added.

The minister further noted that the draft of the federal maritime bill is on the verge of completion ahead of next June.

The new bill is expected to attract more investments, as well as spur investors.
