Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: National Marine Dredging Company ​(NMDC) on Wednesday announced that it has been awarded an AED 5.18 billion contract in Abu Dhabi’s Ghasha concession.

The contract entails setting up 11 artificial islands in the concession, according to the company’s statement to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX).

In October 2018, NMDC won an AED 985.17 million contract for implementing works at the Khalifa Port Extension Project.

Following the completion of the expansion, the port’s total annual capacity will reach 5.6 million vessels.

During the first nine months of 2018, the company’s profits surged 131% to AED 56.7 million, against AED 24.5 million in the prior-year period.
