Cairo – Mubasher: Trade exchange between Egypt and the world rose by 14% year-on-year in the first quarter of fiscal year 2018/2019.
The North African state’s international trade reached $23.4 billion in Q1-18/19, versus $20.54 billion in the same quarter a year earlier, according to data by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
Total Egyptian imports with the world’s states amounted to $16.6 billion during the period from July to September 2018, while exports valued at $6.78 billion, the CBE highlighted.
In January, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) posted that Egypt's trade deficit rose by 30.2% to $4.56 billion in October 2018, versus $3.5 billion in the same month a year earlier.
