Marriott International widens foothold in Africa
"The new deal signings further strengthen our robust development pipeline"

Mubasher: Marriott International signed three deals across North and West Africa in line with the company’s plan to expand in the continent.

The US-based hotel group’s new deals are aimed at investing in the tourism sector in Morocco, Ghana, and Liberia, according to a company statement.

“New and established markets across North and West Africa continue to present us with immense opportunities to further enhance and diversify our portfolio in the continent,” Marriott International’s chief development officer for the Middle East & Africa, Jerome Briet, said.

The hospitality group is working on increasing its hotels in Africa to 200 by the end of 2023.

"The new deal signings further strengthen our robust development pipeline, which is a result of our long-established presence in Africa and the trust owners have in Marriott International and our compelling portfolio of diverse brands,” Briet revealed.
