Dubai – Mubasher: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid, Dubai crown prince, said that urban areas of the future will become “food baskets” through sustainable farming methods.

 “Countries are nothing but a bundle of cities, and their success is related to the success of their economies,” Arabian Business reported, citing bin Rashid as saying during addressing the World Government Summit.  

He added that “many of the world’s cities look to Dubai as a symbol of the future.”

On the sidelines of the event, Dubai Crown Prince also tackled the importance of clean energy, parking and sustainable urban farming, noting that the total number of parking lots in cities covered almost 20% of land space.

“Our homes will become mini-systems to generate power, so every human becomes a producer and consumer of energy at the same time,” bin Rashid pointed out.
