TASI, MT30 level up; Nomu slides 53 pts at Tuesday’s close
The food and staples retailing sector topped gainers with 3.14%

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) finished Tuesday’s trading session in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 56.93 points, or 0.67%, to 8,600.32 points.

TASI’s traded value increased to SAR 2.59 billion ($691.2 million), from SAR 2.26 billion ($603.2 million), while trading volume stood at 118.27 million shares, up from 91.53 million on Monday.

The food and staples retailing sector topped gainers with 3.14%, followed by the banking sector with 1.09%.

The telecommunication services and materials sectors grew 0.57% and 0.13%, respectively.

On the flipside, the media and entertainment sector shed 0.71%, while the insurance sector levelled down 0.41%.

Al Gassim Investment Holding Company’s (GACO) stock was the best performer after jumping 9.5%, while the stock of Eastern Province Cement Co. was the worst performer after losing 5.83%.

The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock topped TASI in terms of liquidity with a turnover of SAR 245.73 million, while Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company’s stock posted the highest trading volume with 11.59 million shares.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, NOMU, slumped 53.4 points, or 1.61%, to finish the mid-week session at 3,275.97 points.

 Al Omran Industrial and Trading Company’s stock went down 5.41%.

The joint index between Tadawul and MSCI, MT30, rose 8.6 points, or 0.68%, to 1,270.05 points.
