Dubai – Mubasher: Emirati hotels have been increasing prices over the global rates, which led to a boom in discounts in the hospitality market.
The maturity of both guests and the market should end the “discount culture”, Dubai Properties Group’s vice president for hospitality asset management, Stuart Etherington, told Arabian Business.
Etherington stressed that the market should comply with prices set in the global market.
“What we are seeing is diversification in our market. The market itself is maturing. What we are seeing is diversification within multiple channels… is statistically driving our rates down because of the blend,” Arabian Business reported, citing the top official as saying.
