Saudi indices finish Wednesday in green for 2nd straight session
The telecommunications sector led gainers after adding 1.4%

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday in green territory for the second successive session after its benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) rose 16.9 points, or 0.2%, to close at 8,617.2 points.

TASI’s traded value rose to SAR 2.67 billion ($711.47 million) on Wednesday, up from SAR 2.64 billion ($705.07 million) in the previous session, while the main market’s trading volume retreated to 104.58 million shares, against 119.74 million on Tuesday.

The telecommunications sector led gainers after adding 1.4%, followed by the food production sector with 0.75%.

On the other hand, the basic goods sector headed decliners with 1.7%, followed by the food retail sector which plunged 1.28%.

Al-Ahlia Insurance’s stock topped risers with 4.11%, whereas the stock of Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al Khodari Sons led fallers after sliding 9.99%, registering its highest loss in eight years.

The stock of Saudi Basic Industries Corp led TASI in terms of trading value after generating SAR 336.45 million, while National Industrialization’s stock registered the highest traded volume after 7.7 million shares were exchanged.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, jumped 169.14 points, or 5.16%, to close at 3,445.1 points.

National Building and Marketing’s stock was Nomu’s best performer with 20%, while the stock of Abdullah Saad Mohammed Abo Moati for Bookstores was the worst performer after tumbling 5.91%.

 The MT 30 index added 4.48 points, or 0.35%, to finish Wednesday’s trading session at 1,274.53 points.
