Mubasher: Gold went up at Wednesday’s settlement, as the US legislators exert effort to avert another partial government shutdown.

Comex April gold rose $1.1, or less than 0.1%, to close at $1,315.1 per ounce.   

The US dollar index (DXY), which measures the US currency against a basket of six major currencies, rose 0.3% to 97.035.   

“With concerns over slowing global growth on the mind of many investors, Brexit drama, China slowdown fears and many other negative themes floating in the air, gold bulls are safe,” MarketWatch reported, citing research analyst at ForexTime, Lukman Otunuga.
