Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) finished the week ended Thursday, 14 February with a positive performance after the main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) grew 13.4 points, or 0.16%, reaching 8,626.28 points from 8,612.84 points in the previous week.

Market capitalisation rose by SAR 6.7 billion ($1.8 billion) to SAR 2.046 trillion ($545.67 billion), from SAR 2.039 trillion ($543.88 billion) last week.

The telecommunication services sector rose 2.7%, followed by the food and staples retailing with 1.5%, and the banking sector inched up 0.06%.

On the flipside, the capital goods sector fell 2.47%, while the materials inched down 0.04%.

Liquidity slumped 21% to SAR 12 billion, from SAR 14.23 billion, while trading volume stood at 499.7 million shares, down from 576.48 million a week ago.

Banque Saudi Fransi’s (BSF) stock was the best performer with 7.87%, while the stock of Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al Khodari Sons Company was the worst performer, after plunging by 19% during the week.

On a weekly basis, the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock, down 0.48%, generated the highest turnover of SAR 1.2 billion, while Dar Alarkan Real Estate Development Co’s stock, up 1.39%, led in terms of traded volume with 41.56 million shares exchanged.

The benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, surged 83.2 points, or 2.5%, to 3,430.89 points, registering its eighth consecutive weekly growth.
