Kuwait C.bank’s assets down 0.7% in January
Other assets of Kuwait’s central bank shrank by 23.5% in January

Mubasher: The assets of the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) slightly decreased by 0.7% month-on-month in January 2019, according to the latest official data.

Total assets of the central bank reached KWD 10.862 billion ($35.8 billion) in January 2019 compared to KWD 10.788 billion ($35.57 billion) in December 2018.

The central bank’s asset items, including cash accounts, bonds, certificates of deposit, treasury bills, and deposits in foreign currency, increased by 1.2% to KWD 10.667 billion in January 2019 from KWD 10.542 billion in December 2018.

Other assets of Kuwait’s central bank shrank by 23.5% to KWD 163.3 million in January 2019 from KWD 213.6 million in the previous month.

Local banks’ accounts and deposits at the central bank totalled KWD 3.993 billion in January.

Bonds stood at KWD 1.85 billion in the first month of 2019.
