Dubai – Mubasher: Coinciding with the inauguration of LuLu Mall, LuLu Group has opened its newest hypermarket in the eastern city of Dammam.
This is the group’s 16th branch in Saudi Arabia and the 161st globally.
Fahd Al-Jubair, mayor of the Eastern Province, inaugurated the new branch in the presence of Abdul Rehman Bin Fahad Al Muqbel, director general of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, along with government officials and dignitaries.
Located on King Fahd Road, the hypermarket is built over an area of 580,000 square metres, LuLu Group said in a statement.
“We are upbeat about the vast investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia, thanks to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030,” commented LuLu Group chairman Yusuff Ali.
The four-level shopping mall houses global brands, entertainment centres, and a food court. LuLu Properties, the shopping mall division of LuLu Group, will manage Dammam’s branch.
It is worth noting that the LuLu Mall comprises a six-screen multiplex cinema, the first in the Eastern region slated to be operational by mid-2019.
“This is apart from the SAR 1.2 billion that we have already invested in the Kingdom till now,” Ali added.
He noted that the group signed an agreement with the Saudi Arabian National Guard to open two shopping centres and seven supermarkets in Dammam and Al Ahsa.
Moreover, three stores in the National Guard campus will be opened before the end of 2019.
On Sunday, the LuLu Group unveiled plans to digitise its money transfer and other financial transaction businesses.
