Dubai – Mubasher: Rotana Hotel Management Corporation (Rotana) has unveiled plans to inaugurate nine hotels in the UAE and abroad in 2019 and 2020, acting CEO Guy Hutchinson said.

After the expected expansions, Rotana’s portfolio of hotel rooms will rise to 21,135, Emarat Al Youm newspaper reported, citing the top official as saying.

The acting CEO further revealed that the hotels will be established across Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Dar es Salaam, Sarajevo, Sulaymaniyah, and Amman.

“Events such as Expo 2020 Dubai, and tourism initiatives, including the $500 billion Red Sea coastline project, NEOM mega-city project, Al Qiddiya Entertainment City, Farasan Islands, and the 3,000-square-kilometre Amaala luxury destination project in Saudi Arabia, will further strengthen the region’s reputation,” Hutchinson noted.

Rotana is currently focusing on opening new hotels in Africa and global markets.

“During the January-February period, Rotana hotels in Abu Dhabi delivered stronger growth as compared to properties in other emirates and recorded a 3.5% growth in occupancy, 2.3% increase in average daily rate “ADR” and 5.9% rise in revenue per available room 'RevPAR',” Hutchinson concluded.
