Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Finland-based Kone won an order to supply elevators and escalators for the AED 4.4 billion ($1.2 billion) Reem Mall currently under construction in Abu Dhabi.

Under the terms of the contract, Kone, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, will install 50 MonoSpace elevators, 60 units of the Travel Master 110 escalator’s model, and 10 units of the Travel Master 115 inclined autowalks.

In addition, Kone E-Link, a monitoring equipment system, will be also installed to assess the performance of mobility across the retail property.

“It is very exciting to contribute to the creation of this new urban hub in the heart of new Abu Dhabi,' the Finnish company’s executive vice president for South Europe, Middle East, and Africa Pierre Liautaud said.

One of the major entertainment projects this year in the GCC, Reem Mall is being developed by Al Farwaniya Property Developments, an alliance between Kuwait’s Agility, its affiliate United Projects for Aviation Services Company, and National Real Estate Company (NREC).

Itinera Ghantoot is the main contractor of Reem Mall, with Mace involved as the project management consultant.
