QSE rises 209 pts at Thursday’s close amid heavy liquidity
The industrials sector led gainers and advanced 2.53%

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index grew 208.86 points, or 2.14%, to close at 9,970.55 points on Thursday.

The QSE’s liquidity jumped to QAR 1.43 billion on Thursday, from QAR 275.97 million in the previous session, while trading volume climbed to 39.36 million shares, from 8.15 million on Wednesday.

The industrials sector led gainers and advanced 2.53%, headed by Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding which rose 6.09% to QAR 18.99, its highest level since December 2015.

Meanwhile, the banking sector went up 1.73%, topped by the Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ) which added 4.27% to QAR 43.69, its highest level since November 2018, while the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) grew 0.56%.

On the other hand, the transportation sector fell 0.82% after Qatar Gas Transport (Nakilat) and Gulf Warehousing dropped 2.34% and 2.20%, respectively.

The real estate sector inched down 0.62% as Ezdan Holding retreated 2.14%.

Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding registered the highest trading volume of 16.05 million shares, while Qatar Fuel (Woqod), which added 2.76%, spearheaded the QSE in terms of turnover with QAR 401.13 million.
