Mubasher: Streaming giant Netflix said it will not make its TV series and movies available through Apple’s streaming video service which is expected to be announced next week.
“We prefer to let our customers watch our content on our service,” Netflix’s CEO Reed Hastings said on Monday.
Apple is set to launch a television and video service on 25 March, a step that would step up competition for Netflix and other providers of entertainment programming online.
Netflix would “not get too distracted” by competitors, but still would “learn lessons” from them, Hastings said, when asked about looming rivalry.
“These are amazing, large, well-funded companies with very significant efforts,” he added.
On a side note, Hastings expected that the world’s dominant streaming service would be blocked in China “for a long time.”
