Drees & Sommer launches hospitality unit in Dubai
The new unit will provide a full-service offering for investors and owners throughout the Middle East

Dubai – Mubasher: Drees & Sommer, the international real estate and construction consultancy company with head office in Germany, revealed its intention to launch a global hospitality team in Dubai as an expansion to its existing European operations, Arabian Business reported.

The new division will provide a full-service offering for investors and owners throughout the Middle East, Africa, Asia, China, and the rest of the world.

The expansion comes along with the group’s vision to raise its investments in the Middle East, the company said in a statement, according to Arabian Business.

The team in the Middle East will be led by managing director of Global Hospitality, Filippo Sona.

 “The dedicated hospitality team of 10 hospitality experts will benefit from the expertise of 3,200 employees based in 41 offices worldwide, combining local market knowledge with world-class international hospitality trend know how to deliver projects globally,” Sona commented.

The team will also provide feasibility studies, hospitality consulting, technical services, project management, construction management, and asset performance management.

“The company will initially focus on key segments of the tourism industry which include hotels, resorts, serviced apartments, golf courses, marinas, spa, theme parks, and the entertainment industry,” Sona added.

It is worth noting that Drees & Sommer hospitality sector has completed up to 1,114 projects in 28 countries and 88 cities across the world.

Moreover, the group plans to invest up to $200 billion in the GCC to accommodate increasing demand, particularly in Dubai where 25 million visitors will be welcomed during Expo 2020.

The six-month Expo 2020 Dubai will be held during the period from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021 and is expected to welcome more than 25 million visitors.
