Egypt to up minimum wage to EGP 2,000
All public employees will receive exceptional bonus

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Saturday announced on a TV broadcast to that the minimum wage for workers and employees in the public sector will be increased to EGP 2,000 from EGP 1,200.

El-Sisi said that public sector workers and employees, who are subject to the Civil Service Law, will receive a 7% annual bonus, while those who are not subject to the law will receive a 10% annual bonus.

These decisions were aimed at alleviating some of the economic pressure Egyptian people face, the president stated.

Moreover, all of the public workers and employees will be granted EGP 150 exceptional bonus to face inflation, el-Sisi announced.
