FDI in Egypt hits EGP 2.8bn in H1 - CBE
FDI in the North African nation reached $2.8 billion in H1-18/19

Cairo – Mubasher: Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Egypt dropped by 25.73% year-on-year during the first half of fiscal year 2018/2019, data by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) showed.

FDI in the North African nation reached $2.8 billion in H1-18/19, versus $3.77 billion in the corresponding period of FY17/18, the CBE said in a statement.

Meanwhile, overseas investments rose by 35.71% to $3.8 billion in the first six-month period of FY18/19, versus $2.8 billion in the prior-year period.

Total inflows edged up 0.46% in H1-18/19, recording $6.6 billion, versus $6.57 billion in H1-17/18, the CBE added.
