Mubasher: State-owned Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA) has received the State Audit Bureau’s approval to appoint international consultant CH2M for implementing design and supervision works of Shuaiba Port’s expansion, Al Anba newspaper reported.

The expansion project of Shuaiba Port is part of Kuwait’s new development scheme, dubbed “New-Kuwait 2035” vision, undersecretary for marine operations at Shuaiba Port Essa Al Mulla told Al Anba.

The expansion works include establishing new docks in a bid to raise Shuaiba Port’s capacity in terms of vessel sizes and lengths, Al Mulla added.

The official further noted that this project is set to boost trade and Kuwait’s ranking in the World Bank Logistics Performance Index (LPI).
