Dubai – Mubasher: The ruler of Dubai and prime minister of the UAE on Tuesday announced that the UAE has launched the permanent residency system for investors and selected expats.

The GCC state will grant the permanent residency visa, the ‘Golden Card’, to professional investors and exceptionally skilled individuals in the fields of medicine, engineering, science, and all arts, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum posted on his official Twitter account.

The first group of competent foreigners for the Golden Card in the UAE reached 6,800 investors, whose total investments reach AED 100 billion UAE ($273 million), Al Maktoum said.

He remarked that the permanent residency will be granted to expats who positively add to the UAE’s success journey.

“We want them to be permanent partners with us in our journey. All residents in the UAE are our brothers and part of our great family in the UAE,” Al Maktoum added in a tweet.
