Mubasher: Investcorp has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Mercury Capital Advisors, a leading institutional capital raising and investment advisory enterprises.

Following this acquisition transaction, Mercury will remain an independent business that operates under its current leadership team.

The Bahrain Bourse-listed firm Investcorp concluded that terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Subject to receipt of relevant regulatory approvals, this acquisition transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2019, according to a press release on Sunday.

Once completed, this investment is the latest milestone in Investcorp’s growth strategy to reach $50 billion in assets under management over the medium term. This acquisition also follows Investcorp’s takeover of a strategic minority stake in Banque Paris Bertrand in 2018.

Mercury was established in 2009 and has closed more than $170 billion in fund commitments since 2003.
