UAE – Mubasher: Loans provided by the UAE banks increased by 4.4% or AED 70.3 billion at the end of April, according to a report by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).

Total loans amounted to AED 1676.9 billion last April, compared to AED 1606.6 billion in the same month of 2018, the report highlighted.

Bank lending to the GCC nation’s private sector rose by 4% in April, reaching AED 1140.7 billion from AED 1099.6 billion in April 2018.

Moreover, the UAE banks provided AED 201.5 billion in loans to the government at the end of April, up 12% year-on-year from AED 180.6 billion.
