Mubasher: German Chancellor Angela Merkel pointed to the “existential” significance of a future trade agreement between the European Union (EU) and the US, Reuters reported.
“We have a mandate for talks with the United States and I think it is of existential importance,” Chancellor Merkel told the BDI industry association.
The German chancellor voiced her willingness to pursue talks with the US to reach sensible solutions that would spare the global economy a difficult phase.
“It is regrettable that France voted against this mandate but perhaps we have some work to do on convincing people,” Merkel was quoted by Reuters.
