Bahraini economy grow 2.7% YoY in Q1
The Bahraini real oil GDP surged 9.2% in Q1-19

Mubasher: Bahrain’s economy grew 2.73% year-on-year at constant prices during the first quarter of 2019.

Meanwhile, the GCC country’s economy grew 3.43% year-on-year at current prices, according to Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

The Bahraini real oil GDP surged 9.2% in Q1-19, while non-oil GDP increased by 1.52% in the same period. The hotel and restaurants sector grew 7.08% at current prices and 8% at constant prices.

Moreover, the construction sector reported a 2.86% growth at constant prices and 4.65% at current prices.

The trade sector grew 1.33% at constant prices from January to the end of March, while the transport and telecom sectors achieved a 1.49% growth at constant prices.

At the other end of the spectrum, the public services and electricity & water sectors shrank 1.06% and 0.73% year-on-year, respectively in the first quarter of the year.
