Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s annual core inflation rate declined to 6.4% in June, compared to 7.8% in May, according to a report released on Wednesday by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
The North African country’s monthly core inflation recorded 0.3% in June, against 1.2% in May and 1.6% in June 2018.
Egypt’s annual inflation fell to 8.9% in June, compared to 13.8% in the same month a year earlier, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said in a statement.
The consumer price index (CPI) declined by 1% month-on-month, recording 307.8 points last month, the CAPMAS added.
