Dubai wins 118 event bids in H1
Dubai hosted five study missions that attracted 205 planners and buyers in H1

UAE – Mubasher: The Dubai Business Events (DBE), the emirate’s official convention bureau, has secured 118 bid wins for events to take place in Dubai in the first half of 2019, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

These events, including conferences, meetings, and incentives in several sectors and industries, are expected to attract 75,288 delegates from across the world to Dubai over the coming years, the state-run news agency added.

Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, said, ‘’Dubai continues to consolidate its position as a leading destination for global travel and business events, and the recent bid wins are a testimony to the strides we have made as a city to attract and host large scale business events."

Dubai won a number of major events during H1-19, including the Amway China Leadership Seminar 2020, set to attract 8,000 delegates, Sun Hope International Incentive 2020, expected to attract 1,500 delegates, World Hospital Congress 2021, with 1,100 delegates, Geospatial Week 2021, with 750 delegates, and AIPPI World Intellectual Property Congress 2025, with 3,000 delegates.

At the worldwide annual exhibition in Frankfurt, IMEX, Dubai Business Events was joined by almost 30 co-exhibitors including Coca-Cola Arena, Dubai World Trade Centre, Emirates, and Expo 2020 Dubai.

Dubai’s official bureau also hosted five study missions that attracted 205 planners and buyers in the first six months of the year.

Moreover, the DBE also organised roadshows across key markets such as London, Toronto, Moscow, and Chennai.

The DBE is planning to host a number of business events during the second the half of 2019, including the second edition of the Dubai Associations Conference (DAC).

The emirate’s official bureau is also seeking to host world-class business events such as Amway APAC Expo 2019, which will attract approximately 10,000 delegates, the World Congress of Neurology, with 5,000 delegates, and the World Conference on Desalination and Water Re-use, with over 1,000 delegates.
