Dubai – Mubasher: DXB Entertainments on Monday announced that Dubai Parks and Resorts welcomed around 641,000 visitors during the second quarter of 2019, up 5% year-on-year from 612,000 visitors.

This included 92,000 people who visited the largest integrated theme park destination in the region during the four-day celebration from 12 to 15 June of the Philippines Independence Day as Filipino residents in the UAE were offered exclusive bundle, according to a press release.

In the first half of 2019, visits to the Dubai Parks and Resorts were 1.40 million, slightly lower than 1.46 million in H1-18, with international visits accounting for 40% of total visitation.

Moreover, the Lapita Hotel posted a 63% surge in average occupancy in H1-19 from 55% in the same period last year, DXB Entertainments revealed.

Furthermore, the third-party Rove at the Park Hotel has become the second hotel to open at the Dubai Parks and Resorts on 16 June 2019, featuring 579 rooms.

The new hotel is a part of the company’s strategy aiming to have more than 1,300 keys at the theme park by the second half of 2020.

Mohamed Almulla, CEO and Managing director of DXB Entertainments, said: “We increased international visitation to 40% to the total visitor mix during the first half of the year, in line with our strategy to drive growth through targeting tourists.”

“Lapita Hotel occupancy has grown by 15% compared to prior year and I am pleased to welcome Rove Hotel, the second hotel at our destination, which opened its doors to guests on 16 June,” he added.
