Chinese AI firm to set up EMEA’s R&D centre in Abu Dhabi
SenseTime to establish EMEA’s centre in UAE’s capital over the coming five years

UAE – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and SenseTime, a leading artificial intelligence company based in China, announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement to set up the Chinese firm’s Europe, the Middle East, and Africa’s (EMEA) research and development (R&D) centre in Abu Dhabi.

Under the agreement, SenseTime will establish its EMEA’s centre in the UAE’s capital over the coming five years, which will offer various jobs, mainly for skillful engineers, according to a press release.

The agreement was signed during the state visit of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to China.

The ADIO will help the Chinese firm to build the R&D centre, which marks a millstone step in the Abu Dhabi government’s Ghadan 21 Accelerator Programme.

SenseTime currently operates in China, Singapore, Japan, and the US, with more than 700 clients including Alibaba Group, China Mobile, and Honda.
