UAE – Mubasher: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, on Sunday revealed it has awarded contracts worth a combined AED 33 million for the expansion of its district cooling pipe network at Dubai Studio City.

The network expansion comes as a part of the company's plan to develop infrastructure using the latest technologies to meet the growing demand for cooling services in Dubai's commercial and residential sector, according to a press release.

Additionally, this will provide customers with high-quality eco-friendly district cooling services, Empower noted.

The five-kilometre long extension project includes the Phase 2 and Phase 3 in the Dubai Studio City.

The 1.5 kilometre long Phase 2 is set for completion by the fourth quarter of 2019, and the 3.5-kilometre long pipeline extension of Phase 3 will be completed by Q2-2020.

“The newly extended network will be connected to a semi-permanent plant in the same area,” the company highlighted.

It is worth noting that Dubai Studio City spans 22 million square feet within Dubailand and has three types of production studios; music, film, and television.

The city, which is home to 14 residential studios, has residential complexes and a studio complex designed in accordance with the highest international standards.
