Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), on Tuesday announced the launch of digital tablet kiosks in its branches to save customer service times.

The digital tablets will enable customers to update their information within minutes, according to a press release.

Through the new service now available at most of the bank’s branches, customers can carry out changes of employer, salary, and personal contact details as well as update their ID documents.

The bank also noted that the digital tablets have cut the services time for tasks conducted by customers by 90% on average, to almost 3 minutes.

The tablets will be introduced across ADIB’s branch network of over 70 branches in the UAE by the end of 2019.

Philip King, global head of retail banking at ADIB, said: “Implementing innovative technologies to deliver a simple and convenient banking experience is the core goal for ADIB. The introduction of these tablets saves both customers and branch staff significant time, and as a result, service staff will be able to focus even more on providing customers with high-quality financial advice and service.”

Records by ADIB have shown that up to 40% of customer service at its branches includes updating of personal or account information.

This step is a part of the bank’s Digital Transformation Strategy, upon which it implements innovative banking services and operations.

It is worth noting that over 2 million mobile transactions were initiated via the ADIB mobile banking app each month.

As part of its digital innovation strategy, the bank has recently launched a new service “Express Finance”, through its mobile app providing qualifying customers with instant access to personal finance within 30 minutes and a simple way to apply for personal finance online.
