Mubasher: European equities traded lower earlier on Tuesday as investors stood on the sidelines, awaiting the monetary policy decision by the European Central Bank (ECB) later in the week, Reuters reported.
By 7:06 am GMT, the pan-European STOXX 600 index edged down by 0.2%, while the benchmark looked poised to extend losses for the second session.
Figures from China showed manufacturers reducing the prices charged for their products, for the second consecutive month, amid an escalating trade war with the US as well as stuttering domestic demand.
China-sensitive German stocks declined by 0.1%, while London’s FTSE fell by 0.4% ahead of July’s unemployment figures.
