EGX ends Wednesday in red; market cap loses EGP 422m
Turnover stood at EGP 620 million

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s trading session in red territory on the back of geopolitical tensions in the region after two facilities of Saudi Aramco were attacked with drones.

The benchmark EG30 index edged down 0.05% to close at 14,745 points.

However, the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) climbed 0.89% to EGP 81.8, registering a turnover of EGP 95.9 million.

Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index fell by 0.34% to 540 points, while the broader EGX100 index went down 0.22% to 1,440 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index slid by 0.79% to 2,092 points.

Turnover stood at EGP 620 million after 154 million shares were exchanged through about 19,800 transactions.

Market capitalisation lost EGP 422 million to close at EGP 738.2 billion on Wednesday.
