Cairo – Mubasher: The number of mobile subscribers in Egypt rose by about 230,000, or 0.24%, to 93.99 million subscribers in June, compared to 93.76 million in May, according to a recent report released by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. 

Year-on-year, the number of mobile subscribers in the most populous Arab nation dropped by 1.82%, or 1.74 million, from June 2018.

Meanwhile, the number of fixed-line subscriptions registered 8.21 million last June, compared to 8.56 million in May and 7.4 million in June a year earlier.

In addition, the number of mobile internet users rose to 36.46 million in June from 36.19 million a month earlier and 32.81 million in June 2018.

Moreover, the number of USB Modem users fell to 2.89 million last June, compared to 2.93 million in May and 3.48 million in June in the previous year.

In the meantime, the number of ADSL subscribers stood at 6.88 million in the sixth month of 2019, compared to 6.91 million a month earlier and 5.82 million in June 2018.
