US durable goods orders drop in September

Mubasher: Demand for the US long-lasting manufactured goods dropped in September, the US Census Bureau’s data showed on Thursday.

The volume of durable goods orders fell by 1.1% to $48.2 billion last September, after a revised uptick of 0.3% in August, the US Census Bureau said.

If vehicles and aircraft are excluded, the figures would show that orders edge down by 0.3% last month.

Shipments of manufactured durable goods declined by 1% to $252.5 billion last August.

Unfilled orders for durable goods barely recorded a change at $1.163 trillion, according to the data.

By 12:42 pm GMT, the EUR/USD pair inched up by 0.04% to $1.1135.
