Mubasher: The value of trade exchange between Brazil and Arab countries reached $15.99 billion in the first ten months of 2019, according to a statement released on Saturday by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC).

Brazil’s exports to Arab states reached $10.34 billion from January to October 2019, while the South American country’s imports from these countries recorded $5.65 billion, ABCC revealed.

“Brazil and the Arab world have long maintained great trade relations and the latest export-import figures reflect their robust ties. Brazil has a lot to offer to the Arab world and vice versa,” ABCC’s president Rubens Hannun said.

Brazil’s exports to the Arab world included cane or beet sugar and chemically pure sucrose in solid form; meat and edible offal of both fresh and frozen poultry; iron ores and concentrates; maize; meat of bovine animals; artificial corundum, aluminium oxide and aluminium hydroxide; and motor cars.

Meanwhile, the most imported items to Brazil from the Arab countries included mineral fuels, mineral oils, bituminous substances and mineral waxes; fertilizers; plastic; salt and sulphur; earth and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement; organic chemicals; and fish, crustaceans and mollusks, and other aquatic invertebrates.
